DEPARTMENT E - GENERAL RULES
Open Flowers

  1. Please mail your entry list, together with fees - see entry blank for costs - to the Fair Office by July 1. All entries may be entered on Tuesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., or Wednesday 7 to 9 a.m. It will be possible to bring in an item not entered in advance. Pick up tags in the Fair Secretary's office.
  2. All entry tags should be firmly attached to exhibits to avoid errors and for proper judging.
  3. No exhibitor shall make more than one entry in any one number or class. Where there is no competition, the judge shall award premium according to merit.
  4. No plant or flower will be accepted for premiums unless listed in the Fair Book.
  5. Horticulture exhibits must have been grown by the exhibitor and should be named as to cultivar/variety where possible. Botanical names increase the plant's value when judging. Container grown plants must have been in possession of the exhibitor for not less than three months, with the exception of multiple plantings, which must have been grown together for at least six weeks. Double-potting is permitted.
  6. Cut horticulture specimens, with foliage attached where so grown, are to be exhibited in clear glass containers that have no lettering or decoration to detract from beauty of the specimen. A small amount of plant material, styrofoam, clear plastic or wooden block may be used to prop or wedge cut specimen upright.
  7. All properties, containers, vases, etc. should be plainly marked with the owner's name and address on the bottom. Fair Superintendent assumes no responsibility for damage or loss of property. All exhibits must remain in place until 6 p.m., Sunday. Exhibits may be removed from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday.

    CLASS   O - Display of work non-judged.
